'Tis the season for the Pinewood Derby and one of the main reasons Joseph wanted to be in Cub Scouts. He has been so excited to start. He's a little engineer and has been planning and sketching designs to figure out what will produce the fastest car. I hope that his expectations are not too high; he fully expects to win. I just hope he is not disappointed, it is his first year and I know he has a lot to learn!

So fun!! Good luck. :)
We just had ours last weekend, also our 1st year. You may already know this, but we learned that liquid graphite on the wheels is a great thing (we didn't do it, but will next year). Also the round weights that come w/ the standard car kit are seen as inferior to the square-type weights. (at least but the experienced Scouts). HTH! I wish we knew about some of those things.
Psst -- we know a way to engineer the car to basically guarantee a win. We got the secret from a dad in my girl scout troop XD
